‘Code Orange‘ is our dedicated Safety Program which outlines our safety approach in relation to our Projects, Team and Clients. Code Orange is a recognised safety term and represents all aspects of our approach in relation to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.

Safety is at the core of everything we do at SONICA and forms a key part of our mantra of Uncompromising Excellence. From the start , we take a positive approach to owning safety on site and across all our projects. In our experience, this is the best way to ensure all those involved in the project are engaged in our Health and Safety systems. By guiding our teams with safety initiatives and positive reinforcement communications, we work to develop an empowered, accountable and inclusive safety culture across our organisation. SONICA’s Safety culture through Code Orange has proven to be beneficial, not just from a health and safety point of view, but also from a quality and programme point of view.

Our Approach

Our approach to safety involves positive engagement and open communication to ensure that working in SONICA is a safe environment, for everyone. 

Our Code Orange Health & Safety program is led by Aoife Gilheany, Health and Safety Manager and her team. Our safety program has received certification and external recognition from our peers.

Our team are committed to working in a way that protects themselves, their families, and our stakeholders.



Our wellbeing programme is employee led through our annual Orange Pulse survey. We know our teams have different drivers when it comes to wellbeing and an off the shelf, third party approach does not work for everyone. With this in mind, we have introduced several internal initiatives, all available for our team choose from, based on what motivates them.

Our wellbeing approach is driven by our Social Engagement Team and is available to employees through the dedicated SONICA Hub. Wellness also forms part of our overall Responsible Business and Corporate Responsibility approach.
